Professor Adrian Wilson has been leading on education in osteotomy surgery in the UK over the last decade. As technology has developed, as have the techniques employed to perform osteotomy surgery. Together with his consultant surgeon partner, Mr Raghbir Khakha, we present our video on performing a minimally invasive high tibial osteotomy.
The advantage of performing through a significantly smaller incision that patients have significantly less pain after surgery. This is beneficial for faster rehabilitation and recovery from major surgery.
We hope this video will aid surgeons in their planning for high tibial osteotomy surgery. The addition of the bone wedge allograft has been beneficial in reducing post-operative pain and swelling and is something we routinely use when performing osteotomies.
